MOSCOW, May 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's security services have prevented a terrorist attack on a gas pipeline in Russia's North Caucasus Republic of Daghestan, a police source said on Monday.
The homemade explosive device, with an equivalent of 5 kg (11 lbs) of TNT was planted under the Mozdok-Kazimagomed trunk pipeline.
"FSB bomb disposal experts arrived at the scene and destroyed the device," the source said.
Daghestan and Ingushetia have seen a rise in violence recently linked both to militants based in neighboring Chechnya and local criminal groups.
