NOVOSIBIRSK, May 29 (RIA Novosti) - Investors from Italy’s South Tirol region have agreed to develop tourism in southwest Siberia's Altai Territory, the Altai administration said on Friday.
The Italian delegation, including businessmen and representatives from the South Tirol administration, arrived in the Russian region this week. During the visit, the delegates said there were good prospects for developing international-standard tourist centers in the Altai Territory.
Andreas Werth, department head for agriculture and tourism in the Italian province of Bolzano-Bozen, proposed that Italian businessmen establish a skiing center in the region, known in equal measures for its natural beauty and remoteness.
The official also said that Altai health products, including vitamins and organic medical products, could be distributed to Spa hotels in Europe.
