KHABAROVSK, June 5 (RIA Novosti) - A 51-year-old woman leapt from her 10th floor apartment a day after her daughter committed suicide after being sacked from debt-ridden air carrier Dalavaia, a police source said on Friday.
The airline employed 2,800 people and almost all of them were sacked after the company stopped flights in October 2008. Its debts constitute about 2 billion rubles ($60.6 million), mostly in wage arrears and redundancy benefits. The accounts of the virtually-bankrupt airline have been frozen.
"The mother of a woman, who committed suicide the day before by jumping out of the window, also committed suicide by jumping to her death from the window of her apartment on the tenth floor," the source said.
The girl's former colleagues said she was living on unemployment benefit.
