Six die in house fire in Siberia

Six people died in a house fire at a village in Russia's Irkutsk Region, a representative of the Siberian emergencies ministry said on Saturday.

KRASNOYARSK, June 6 (RIA Novosti) - Six people died in a house fire at a village in Russia's Irkutsk Region, a representative of the Siberian emergencies ministry said on Saturday.

At least five of the dead are children, the source said, "Another two people have been hospitalized, one is in a critical condition."

The source said despite the fact that firefighters arrived at the scene within 10 minutes of receiving the report early Saturday the fire had already engulfed the house.

An investigation is currently ongoing to establish the cause of the blaze.
