Five construction workers die from gas poisoning in West Siberia

Five workers died after getting poisoned with gas at a construction site in a West Siberian city, a local emergencies spokesman said on Saturday.

TYUMEN, June 20 (RIA Novosti) - Five workers died after getting poisoned with gas at a construction site in a West Siberian city, a local emergencies spokesman said on Saturday.

"On Friday, June 19, five people got gas poisoning during works in a collecting drain at a construction site in Nizhnevartovsk. Three of them died on the spot," the spokesman said.

The other two workers died in a hospital.

The causes of the accident are currently being established, and an investigation is underway.
