Senior Russian investigator gets 9 years in jail for bribery

MOSCOW, June 30 (RIA Novosti) - A Moscow court sentenced on Tuesday a former high-profile investigator, Dmitry Dovgy, to nine years in prison for bribery and abuse of office.
A second man, Andrei Sagura, was also convicted and received eight years in jail.
Dovgy who led a politically-motivated investigation into corruption allegations against a deputy finance minister, Sergei Storchak, was found guilty on Wednesday of taking a 750,000 euro ($1 million) bribe.
Dovgy, who maintained his innocence throughout the judicial process, will serve his prison sentence in a strict regime.
