Motorboat kills holidaymaker in Russian Black Sea resort

A woman on holiday in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi died on Sunday after being hit by a motorboat near the beach, a local boat inspector said.

SOCHI, July 19 (RIA Novosti) - A woman on holiday in the Russian Black Sea resort of Sochi died on Sunday after being hit by a motorboat near the beach, a local boat inspector said.

"At around 12:00, a woman who had been relaxing on the beach swam past the 200-meter buoy for small boats, and as a result, was caught under the propeller of a passing motorboat," Anatoly Mazur told RIA Novosti.

The woman's identity has not yet been established, he said.

Sochi will be the host city of the 2014 Winter Olympics.
