ANKARA, July 19 (RIA Novosti) - A bus carrying Russian tourists overturned in the Turkish resort city of Antalya, injuring at least 12 people, the Russian consul general in Antalya said on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Sunday near Beldibi, 40 km (25 miles) south of Antalya on Turkey's Mediterranean coast, when the bus was traveling from a hotel to the airport. Eight people have been hospitalized, Mirdzhalol Khusanov said.

According to police information, the bus overturned after one of the tires burst.

The bus was carrying tourists from St. Petersburg. Their plane was scheduled to take off at 11:30 a.m. local time (08:30 GMT).

The consul general said the injuries were not life-threatening.

The most costly accident this year involving Russian tourists occurred in Vietnam in March. A bus carrying 24 Russian tourists and two Vietnamese on a day trip plummeted down a precipice about 50 km (31 miles) from the tourist town of Dalat, killing nine people and injuring 14.
