West Siberian police officer charged with heroin possession

A police officer in west Siberia has been charged with possessing 1 kilogram of heroin, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

YEKATERINBURG, September 8 (RIA Novosti) - A police officer in west Siberia has been charged with possessing 1 kilogram of heroin, prosecutors said on Tuesday.

The heroin was found in the officer's patrol car in the city of Surgut in the Khanty Mansi autonomous district.

"The officer has been placed in a pretrial detention center," prosecutors said.
