VLADIVOSTOK, October 15 (RIA Novosti) - Multistage naval exercises involving a mixed task force of Russia's Pacific Fleet have ended in the Sea of Japan, the fleet said Thursday.
The exercises that started October 6 included a three-day anti-submarine warfare drill, which involved eight warships, submarines and support vessels.
The drill was aimed at practicing search-and-destroy tactics against hostile submarines in joint missions with anti-submarine aircraft and helicopters. The submarines were tasked with "sinking" their "hunters."
In all, over ten battle tasks were fulfilled during the exercises.
