NIZHNY NOVGOROD, November 3 (RIA Novosti) - At least seven people have died and one injured in an apartment complex fire in Russia's Volga region, a regional Emergencies Ministry spokeswoman said on Tuesday.
The fire was reported at approximately 1:00 am Tuesday (GMT 22:00 Monday) in the wooden complex containing eight apartments in the town of Balakhna.
"Seven people died in the fire in Balakhna and one woman was injured. She has been taken to hospital," Svetlana Petrova told RIA Novosti.
Witnesses said there were parties going on in two of the apartments at the time of the fire.
