Russian Patriarch Kirill to visit Azerbaijan on Friday

BAKU, November 6 (RIA Novosti) - The head of the Russian Orthodox Church will make a one-day visit to Azerbaijan on Friday, a spokesman for the chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Board said Friday.

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia will congratulate the Muslims' board chairman, Sheikh ul-islam Allahshukur Pasha-zadeh, on his 60th birthday and take part in a prayer service, after which he will meet with President Ilham Aliyev.

The patriarch will also take part in an international conference on interfaith dialogue.

Azerbaijan's capital, Baku, is also to host on Friday a congress of the country's Russian community, which totals 160,000 people.
