MOSCOW, November 6 (RIA Novosti) - Five people died and five others were injured in a fire in Russia's Far Eastern Amur region on Friday, a spokesman for the local emergencies service said.
"A grassland fire broke near the Mostovoye village in the Belogorsky district this afternoon," the spokesman said, adding that firefighters had immediately rushed to the scene of the blaze.
He said five local residents had died and four others received burns while trying to help firefighters put out the blaze. One fireman was also reported to have been injured.
Four of the injured are in grave condition, the spokesman added.
The fire has now been extinguished.
