Russian driver runs over two girls to "punish" them, one dies

A resident of the Russian republic of Bashkortostan in the southern Urals hit two girls with his car, killing one of them, investigators said Saturday.

"Investigation established that the young man quarreled with two girls and decided to punish them," Svetlana Abramova, an aide to a top Baskhir investigator, said. "He ran over them."

She said an investigation is underway and the young man faces up to 15 years in prison.
