Five people were killed in a traffic accident in south Russia's Krasnodar Territory on early Saturday.

Five people were killed in a traffic accident in south Russia's Krasnodar Territory on early Saturday, a spokesman for the local emergencies department said.

He said a car collided with a truck on the Krasnodar-Novorossiisk highway adding that all five people in the car were killed in the accident.

He said the cause of the traffic accident is being established.

The situation with traffic accidents in Russia is difficult and, according to official statistics, nearly 30,000 people died on Russian roads last year.
