Investigators will hold a probe into the emergency landing of a helicopter near Vorkuta in Russia's Arctic, in which 13 people were injured, the Investigative Committee said on Sunday.

The Mi-171 helicopter owned by Gazpromavia, an airline belonging to energy giant Gazprom, made an emergency landing on Saturday afternoon some 4 km (2.5 miles) away from the runway near the city of Vorkuta.

There were 25 people aboard the helicopter, including 22 passengers and three crewmembers. All the thirteen people injured in the incident had been hospitalized.

The Federal Air Transport Agency earlier reported that the helicopter was travelling from the settlement of Bovanenkovo to Vorkuta.

Bovanenkovo accommodates the largest gas field on Yamal Peninsula, which is expected to be launched in the second half of 2011. The gas field is expected to produce 115 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
