Traffic was paralyzed in Moscow on Monday as the capital saw its heaviest snowfall this winter.

The snow began late on Sunday and continued on Monday morning, bringing chaos to the roads. Traffic police asked motorists to leave their cars at home and use public transport.

All of Moscow's airports were open for business as usual.

The blizzard follows on from last week's biting frost, which saw temperatures in the capital plunge to minus 25 degrees Celsius (-13 degrees Fahrenheit).
