Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday he could visit Vancouver to watch some of the Olympic finals competitions.
Last week, Russia sent 179 athletes to the Canadian city which will host the Winter Games on February 12-28.
Russian Olympic Committee President Leonid Tyagachev invited Medvedev to attend the Russian women's snowboard finals.
"It would be great to watch the ice hockey finals as well," Medvedev said.
Tyagachev complained that neither the mountain skiing nor the biathlon tracks was ready in Vancouver over the lack of snow, saying that the organizers had requested snow supplies from surrounding ski resorts and mountainous areas.
"Well, we can deliver [snow] from Sochi," the president replied, referring to the Russian Black Sea resort which will host the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Medvedev also pledged political support to the Russian Olympic team.
"If any problems emerge, report them, we will try to solve them, and we will solve them politically, because sport ... also deals with politics," the Russian leader said.
