An eight-year-boy who was put on a plane back to Russia by his U.S. adoptive mother is likely to find a new home with a Russian diplomat family, the Russian children's ombudsman said on Tuesday

An eight-year-boy who was put on a plane back to Russia by his U.S. adoptive mother is likely to find a new home with a Russian diplomat family, the Russian children's ombudsman said on Tuesday.

The boy, named only as Artyom, arrived in Moscow on April 8 carrying a note from his adoptive mother, Torry Hansen from Tennessee, which said she was rejecting him as he was "psychopathic."

"I pay careful attention to Artyom's affairs," Pavel Astakhov said, adding that he was likely to be adopted by a diplomatic family working in an English-speaking country.

Media reports claimed the boy had "forgotten" his native tongue when he arrived in Russia after less than a year in the U.S. However, Astakhov said he already spoke Russian well.

The case was widely reported in Russia, and led to a repeated call for bans on foreign adoptions.
