The Russian education system needs large-scale reforms, the head of Russia's largest bank said on Tuesday.
"The key point of our efforts should be education," Sberbank head German Gref said at the Strategy 2010: Realization Results and New Challenges conference in Moscow.
Gref called the widespread opinion in Russia that its people are among the world's most educated a myth. He said the education system, at all levels, was "Russia's Achilles' heel."
The former minister of economic development and trade also said that a reform of the education system was "vital" for the country's future.
