Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Thursday called on German companies to participate actively in the Skolkovo high-tech research hub project.
Medvedev and German Chancellor Angela Merkel are currently attending the Russian-German St. Petersburg Dialogue forum in the Urals city of Yekaterinburg.
"We hope that the German participation in the large project to be realized in Skolkovo will be extremely active," Medvedev said at a news conference after talks with Merkel.
Earlier in the day, the German company Siemens signed a memorandum of mutual understanding with Skolkovo.
"We support Siemens intention to participate in Skolkovo's management. This is very encouraging," Medvedev said.
"In this sense, Germany is our key strategic partner, to whom we are linked by thousands of business contacts," he added.
