Child without seatbelt dies in head-on collision between car, cement truck in Siberia

A four-year-old child died in a head-on collision involving a passenger car and cement truck near the Siberian city of Tomsk, the local police press service said on Thursday.
The cement truck driver was reported to have lost control of his vehicle and slammed head on into a passenger car and then flipped onto its side. The child, who was sitting in the back seat without a seatbelt or child seat, was thrown out of the vehicle. The seatbelts were removed from the back seat of the car. He died in the ambulance that arrived at the scene.
The driver of the passenger car, a 64-year-old man, and his passenger, a 32-year-old woman, were taken to a hospital with serious injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.
The cement truck driver received no injuries in the accident.
