Bomb technicians have defused an explosive device with the equivalent of 20 kilograms of TNT in Russia's volatile North Caucus republic of Dagestan, local police reported on Saturday.
The bomb was discovered near a supermarket in the city of Kizilyurt, and consisted of two 10-liter plastic canisters filled with explosives and a timer.
Sappers destroyed the explosive device using a high-powered water cannon.
No injuries or deaths were reported as a result of the detonation.
