A plane with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on board failed to land at Russia's Arctic city of Norilsk on Monday due to bad weather conditions, his spokesman said.
As part of his working visit to Siberia and the Far East, Putin is scheduled to visit a copper plant in Norilsk, Siberia's northernmost city, as well as a natural reserve and a meteorological center near Tiksi in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) on Monday.
The premier's plane was diverted to an airport in Khatanga.
"[From Khatanga], Vladimir Putin will head to Tiksi. The visit to Norilsk and all scheduled events will be held later," Dmitry Peskov said.
On Tuesday the Russian premier is to attend a fishing industry conference in the Far Eastern city of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
