Russian President Dmitry Medvedev accepted the resignation of his top media advisor Leonid Reiman on Friday.

Reiman, who served as Communications Minister between 1999 and 2008, was head of the president's council on the development of media society in Russia.

No details are available as to his successor.

Reiman may be appointed CEO of the Svyazinvest telecoms company, a source close to the firm told RIA Novosti.

Medvedev's press secretary said Reiman "wants to get back to business" after 11 years in government service.
