Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin laid flowers on Tuesday on the grave of football fan Yegor Sviridov, after describing his death as a "tragedy."
"You should view it as an attack on all of you, regardless of where you live, or what your racial or religious affiliations are," Putin told a meeting of football fans in Moscow.
Spartak Moscow fan Sviridov was shot dead in a brawl with migrants from Russia's mainly Muslim North Caucasus region on December 6. The incident has sparked race-hate riots and ethnic clashes across Russia, including a brawl between over 5,000 football supporters and police outside the Kremlin walls.
