Four dead in head-on collision between Moscow, St. Petersburg

Four people died and three were injured as two cars collided head-on on the highway linking the Russian capital Moscow with the country's second largest city St. Petersburg, police said Monday.

Four people died and three were injured as two cars collided head-on on the highway linking the Russian capital Moscow with the country's second largest city St. Petersburg, police said Monday.

In the accident that occurred on Sunday, the driver of a Chevrolet entered the oncoming lane and crashed into a Lada 21104 sedan. Both drivers and two Lada passengers died on the site.

The other two Lada passengers and one Chevrolet passenger were injured and taken to a hospital.

Head-on collisions and drunk driving account for most traffic accident deaths in Russia.
