Russian and British leading oil companies Rosneft and BP signed on Wednesday a framework agreement on strategic partnership on the sidelines of the annual global economic forum in Davos.
The agreement follows a $16-billion deal to jointly develop the Arctic Sea shelf and to swap shares, which Rosneft and BP signed on January 14.
The framework agreement was signed by Rosneft President Eduard Hudainatov and BP Chief Executive Robert Dudley. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin in charge of the energy sector attended the ceremony.
