Police officers arrested 112 participants of Thursday’s unsanctioned rally in St Petersburg, a police spokesman said on Friday.
“112 people were arrested and taken to police stations. We are currently considering their cases in court,” the spokesman said, adding that about 300 people attended the unsanctioned rally.
The demonstration was halted by police when it tried to pass down central Nevsky Prospekt.
Among those detained were Solidarity movement co-leader Boris Nemtsov - a former Yeltsin-era deputy prime minister turned opposition figure.
