Russia's State Automobile Inspectorate on Tuesday said it will fine a pregnant female driver who failed to give way to a police car with flashing lights in a convoy on a busy Moscow highway.

On July 15, Ksenia Nozdracheva was driving her Toyota on Kutuzovsky Prospect out of Moscow. She got stuck in a traffic jam and failed to give way to a convoy consisting of a black Mercedes and a police car with its flashing lights on.

It was not immediately available who the VIP was in the Mercedes.

The police car was finally able to pull ahead and stopped the car, after which a policeman approached Nozdracheva's car and attempted to confiscate her driver's license. The woman locked the doors of the car and called her husband, Alexander, to the scene for support.

He arrived 10 minutes later and tried to approach the car of his wife; however, the policeman pointed a gun at him. The conflict heated up as other police cars arrived at the scene.

The incident caused a huge stir on the Russian internet.

"A protocol on an article of the Code of Administrative Violations has been drawn up against the woman...This article stipulates a fine between 300 and 500 rubles ($11-$18), or revoking the driver's license for a term varying from one to three months," a source from the State Automobile Inspectorate said.

He described the policeman involved in the conflict as "man with a good record."
