Chechnya traditionally shows highest election turnout of 94%

"People from mountainous regions are the most active voters," Ismail Baikhanov said adding that no violations were registered at Chechen polling stations.

"The election commission has received no complaints and no reports of violations of rights of any political party since the start of the campaign," Baikhanov said.

During the previous parliamentary polls, Chechnya boasted the highest turnout of 99.5 percent, of which 99.36 percent votes were cast for the ruling United Russia party.
