Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will in due time present his own presidential election program, which will differ from the program currently presented on his campaign website, his spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Kommersant FM on Thursday.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin will in due time present his own presidential election program, which will differ from the program currently presented on his campaign website, his spokesman Dmitry Peskov told Kommersant FM on Thursday.

The latter program was developed by Putin’s election campaign team, which is made up primarily of members of his People's Front movement. They launched a website on Thursday containing the program, which includes a detailed plan for promoting Russia's national interests in the international arena and its appeal to foreign investors and tourists.

“Under election law, when a party congress nominates a presidential candidate, as was done at United Russia’s congress, an abbreviated version of the candidate’s election program must be published. And this has been done,” Peskov said. “This program assimilates many elements of the so-called People’s Program developed by the People's Front. This program was published on the campaign site.”

Peskov said it was an "oversight" that the differences between the two programs were not clearly outlined on Putin’s site.

Peskov said that Putin’s program will be somewhat different from that elaborated by his campaign team.

“Putin’s own program is yet to be published. It will be a somewhat different version, many elements will be included, but it will be a product of the candidate's own work,” the spokesman went on, adding that there would also be a difference in style.

Earlier, Peskov said that the prime minister spent his New Year holidays writing his election program. The document will consist of three parts dedicated to economic, social and international policy. The main points are reminiscent of the so-called People’s Program which experts and political scientists wrote before the parliamentary elections. On the other hand, Putin’s plan for the future emphasizes his personal priorities and new vision, Peskov said.

Putin called for the creation of the All-Russia People's Front, whose name echoes popular communist movements, at the United Russia party conference on May 6, 2011.
