Liberal leader Grigory Yavlinsky has collected two million signatures needed to enter the presidential election on March 4.
More than two million people signed up to support the presidential candidate, Yavlinsky’s Yabloko party said in a statement on Monday.
The lists will be submitted to the Central Election Commission for verification on Wednesday.
Tycoon Mikhail Prokhorov claimed on his Facebook account on Monday he had also collected more than two million signatures.
Yavlinsky had been in political semi-retirement for the past decade but resurfaced before parliamentary elections on December 4.
Yabloko failed to clear the 7-percent threshold to make it ino the State Duma, the lower house of Russia's parliament.
The elections were marred by widespread allegations of vote fraud and Yavlinsky has been one of the leaders of a growing protest movement seeking a rerun of the elections.
