Russian Internet company Mail.ru Group on Monday announced the launch of its own multimedia micro blogging service Futubra.com – a Russian analogue of Twitter.
The company said that the service will focus on “photo and video content, users’ interest and mobility”. All the content will be public.
Futubra will allow users to subscribe to their favorite micro bloggers in a single click, without confirmations of mutual friendship.
Mail.ru will soon provide mobile clients for Android, iOS, Windows Phone 7 and Symbian.
Twitter is the world’s largest micro blogging service, its audience comprises more than 400 million people, of whom about 2 million are Russian speakers.
