Russian Liberal leader Grigory Yavlinsky, who is the candidate for non-parliamentary party “Yabloko” in the March presidential elections, says he will fight to take part and become registered.
The first sample of collected signature lists from Yavlinsky showed more than 23 percent of signatures collected invalid, which is over the legal limit of five percent.
The list is to go through a second check but to register for a second time, Yavlinsky will have to appeal the outcome of the first sample.
“The decision is not made by me or “Yabloko” but by the elections. The rejection [in registration as a candidate] is a closure of the election but we will fight on,” Yavlinsky wrote on his Twitter.
