At Least 5 killed in Household Gas Blast in Bashkortostan

MOSCOW, January 28 (RIA Novosti)
At least five people were killed in a household gas blast in an apartment in Bashkortostan, the local emergencies ministry said on Saturday.
A household gas cylinder used for installation of stretch ceilings exploded in a 16-apartment two-storey house in the village of Priyutovo, Bashkortostan. Preliminary reports indicate say explosion was caused by incorrect operation of the gas equipment.
Two workers were killed. Rescuers also retrieved the bodies of a child, a woman and a man from the rubble.
Three more people were injured and were taken to hospital.
