About 9,000 law enforcement officers will ensure public order and security at mass rallies downtown Moscow on Saturday.

At least 30,000 protesters will march down Bolshaya Yakimanka Street to Bolotnaya Square where a mass rally will be held.

This will be the third mass opposition demonstration in Moscow since the December 4 parliamentary polls, which were marred by allegations of widespread vote fraud in favor of Putin’s United Russia party.

Access to the march route and rally points will be restricted and guarded by police units using metal detectors.

The participants will not be allowed to bring large bags, suspiciously-looking metal objects, glass bottles, petards or firecrackers.

Police also warned of possible provocations during the rallies and asked the participants to report any suspicious activity at the events.

This will be the third mass opposition demonstration in Moscow since the December 4 parliamentary polls, which were marred by allegations of widespread vote fraud in favor of Putin’s United Russia party.

The previous two For Free Elections rallies ended without a single arrest and drew an estimated, combined total of some 100,000 people.

Pro-Putin supporters are also due to rally on Saturday at a separate location in Moscow. Some 15,000 people are expected to attend.
