Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will on Thursday answer questions from Russian TV journalists in a live television broadcast.
Presidential spokeswoman Natalya Timakova said on Wednesday that the journalists taking part will be from Channel One, NTV, Rossiya, as well as Ren TV and Dozhd. The interview with the outgoing head of state will take place in the Ostankino TV center and will last about 1.5 hours.
Medvedev will leave the presidential post on May 7, when Prime Minister and President-elect Vladimir Putin is sworn in. He is expected to assume the prime ministerial duties after Putin’s inauguration as president.
On Tuesday, Medvedev spoke at a meeting with the State Council. He summed up his activity for the past four years and outlined the tasks of the new government. The televised interview on Thursday is also expected to focus on the summing up of Medvedev’s presidency and future prospects.
