Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has dismissed the head of Stavropol region Valery Gaevsky and named a State Duma deputy, Valery Zerenkov, to serve as acting governor, the Kremlin press service reported on Wednesday.
The presidential decree signed on May 2 “accepts the resignation of the Stavropol Territory Governor Gaevsky of his own free will.”
Zerenkov is currently a Duma deputy from the ruling United Russia party.
