Mi-2 Helicopter Crashes in South Russia, Pilot Killed

ROSTOV-ON-DON, August 10 (RIA Novosti)
A Mil Mi-2 Hoplite helicopter crashed in Russia’s southern Rostov region on Friday, killing the pilot, a source in the regional security services said.
The helicopter crashed at around 3:00 p.m. local time [11:00 GMT] in the Proletarsky district, to the southeast of the regional capital, Rostov-on-Don.
The helicopter was being used for agricultural purposes.
The Mi-2 is a lightly armored transport helicopter. A total of 7,200 helicopters were produced exclusively in Poland until its production completely ceased in 1985.
