MOSCOW, January 18 (RIA Novosti) - A police officer was injured in a bomb attack in Chechnya on Friday, the republic’s Interior Ministry said.

A police sergeant sustained leg injuries when an explosive device went off near the village of Aslanbek-Sheripovo during an operation against illegal armed formations, the ministry said.

His life is out of danger.

“The operation to identify and neutralize members of illegal armed formations continues,” the ministry said.
