The launch of a Japanese cargo freighter to the International Space Station (ISS) has been delayed until Saturday due to adverse weather conditions, Japan's JAXA space agency said on Thursday.
The liftoff of the HTV2 on a H-2B carrier rocket was originally scheduled for Thursday, but was delayed because of thick clouds predicted over the launch pad.
Nicknamed Kounotori 2 (Japanese for 'white stork'), the spacecraft is expected to blast off from Tanegashima Space Center off the southern coast of Japan at 14:37 Japanese time [05:37 GMT] on Saturday.
The spacecraft will deliver nearly 4,000 kg of scientific gear, crew provisions, spare parts and computers to the ISS.
