An interplanetary spacecraft for a flight to Mars will be created no earlier than 2025, and the maiden flight to the red planet is possible only after 2035, Russian space agency Roscosmos chief Anatoly Perminov said on Wednesday.

"The possibility of a flight to Mars needs to be combined with the construction of a spaceship having a new nuclear power propulsion unit, which will make it possible to reach the planet in a month," Perminov said in Russia's upper house of parliament.

He said the propulsion unit is to be built by 2019.

Some 7.2 billion rubles ($256 mln) is to be allocated as part of the state nuclear corporation Rosatom's innovation development program in 2010-2018 on the joint project with Roscosmos to create a nuclear power unit-based transport module for the future spacecraft.

Answering questions from senators in the Federation Council, the Roscosmos head called flights to Mars on board existing spaceships "absurdity," and added that the prospective flight could only be organized on an international level.

Russia, as well as the United States, has been developing technology to produce nuclear-powered spacecraft for decades.

Roscosmos and NASA are planning to discuss the development of a nuclear-powered spaceship on Friday during talks in Moscow.

There will be NO flight to Mars in 2035

“An interplanetary spacecraft for a flight to Mars will be created no earlier than 2025, and the maiden flight to the red planet is possible only after 2035, Russian space agency Roscosmos chief Anatoly Perminov said on Wednesday.”

I mean no disrespect to Russian space agency Roscosmos chief Anatoly Perminov, but the entire world is going to be both in economic and energy turmoil beginning in 2020 and extending through to 2030.

During the period of 2020 to 2030 expect the entire world banking system to collapse due to the collapse of the oil energy sector.

During the period of 2020 to 2030 the entire worldwide economy will be contracting at a furious rate never before seen in human history.

This is simply because the current worldwide banking system is based on growth and this growth is driven by cheap and affordable energy. Cheap and affordable energy is going away beginning in 2011, becoming very scarce in 2020 and facing exhaustion by 2030.

Unless the new global financial concept of “Work Credits” is introduced which will completely stabilize future worldwide financial markets, the outlook is very bleak, leading to financial chaos and collapse around the world between the years of 2020 and 2030.

The last thing on anyone’s mind will be an interstellar trip to Mars in 2035.

Normally I am a very optimistic person, but these facts are indisputable.

Worldwide Peak Oil occurred on June 2006. For the last 5 years the world has been at the top of the Worldwide Peak Oil curve. Beginning in 2011 the entire world begins its descent down the Worldwide Peak Oil Curve.

This means that from 2011 forward there will be less and less oil available on a year to year basis worldwide to meet global demand. This will drive oil prices continuously upwards until 2020 when oil prices will begin spiking severely.

By 2030 the modern oil age we enjoy today will be over. This is based on all oil field data available and it is widely accepted as fact.

All oil fields around the world are now in decline. Mexico is in catastrophic collapse at 33% a year and will be exhausted by 2020. The North Sea oil field is also in catastrophic collapse at 33% a year and will be exhausted by 2020.

The Ghawar oil field in Saudi Arabia has been overstated by 300 billion barrels of oil. This data was released in march 2011. The Ghawar Oil field is now 30% sea water and filling at 8% a year. Catastrophic collapse of the Ghawar oil field is expected to begin in 2020 (9 years time) and will be exhausted by 2030.

The United States oil fields peaked in 1970 and collapse is expected by 2020. If the United States is able to find sufficient offshore oil reserves they may be able to extend their domestic oil supply from 2020 to 2030. But this is uncertain.

Canada's tarsands / oilsands have sufficient supply to last the United States and Canada until the year 2020. Between 2020 and 2030 the Canadian oilsands will become exhausted. The oil companies and the Alberta government have acknowledged this.

Russia now has the largest oil and gas reserves on the planet having recently surpassed Saudi Arabia. However the Russian oil fields are also past their Peak Oil and are experiencing a year on year decline of about 8%. Russian oil fields will begin their catastrophic collapse phase around 2020 (when year on year declines are 30% or greater) and will to be close to exhaustion by 2030.

And the same goes for Nigeria and Venezuela. 2030 is the end date for all modern oil based civilizations. Meaning that there will not be enough fossil fuel to run our societies as we are living in them now.

So in 2025 I can absolutely guarantee you that the last thing on anyone's mind will be building a nuclear powered space ship to go to Mars in 2035.

In the year 2035 the world will be experiencing a huge drop in population, do the collapse of our modern oil based agriculture industry.

Russia may also be fighting for its life beginning in 2025 to maintain control of its Caspian area oil and natural gas reserves. This is why Russia has allocated 20 trillion rubles ($167 billion) to upgrade its military by 2020.

Major conflicts are coming between 2020 and 2030 if a new clean energy source is not found.

And if the above was not bad enough, I have my own predication of an asteroid strike on August 17, 2028 in the United States in the vicinity of Yellowstone National Park. This asteroid strike will destabilize the Yellowstone Super Caldera resulting in the largest volcanic eruption in mankind's history.

Sadly this duel catastrophe will wipe out life on the North American continent and plunge the Earth into 2,000 year crisis that will reduce the population from 7 billion to 1 billion. This crisis will be caused by the dust thrown up into the atmosphere cutting off the sun's energy. The world's agriculture systems will collapse leading to mass starvation.

This is not the forecast asteroid to hit the earth in 2029 or 2036.

So unless the spaceship being designed is for the asteroid deflection program, I seriously doubt that there will be any desire or money to launch an Earth – Mars mission in 2035.

There are just so many huge changes coming for humanity in the next 9 to 19 years, 2020 to 2030.

On the bright side though, Russia's energy revenue is going to soar from 2011 to 2030 until exhaustion occurs.

I am sorry to be such a realist with these dire future predictions.

Sudden change of heart – Fly to Mars in 2035

“An interplanetary spacecraft for a flight to Mars will be created no earlier than 2025, and the maiden flight to the red planet is possible only after 2035, Russian space agency Roscosmos chief Anatoly Perminov said on Wednesday.”

I have had a sudden change of heart.

Russia should plan to fly to Mars in 2035, despite all of the foreseeable obstacles.

Why? Because it gives a country and world something to plan for. Something big!

To generate hope and optimism for this flight to Mars, I suggest that the Russian and American governments also budget several big budget Earth to Mars Mission movies with current popular actors.

Several movies could be made of the Mars Cosmonauts landing and exploring different areas of Mars.

In this way it doesn't matter if we actually go or not, the idea is accomplished.

So yes! Plan to go to Mars in 2035 and build up the hype with several big budget international movies.
