MOSCOW, January 14 (RIA Novosti) – Moscow zoo is celebrating the birth of a pink pelican, the zoo said on Thursday.
“This is the first birth of its kind in the history of the zoo,” the zoo said on its website.
The zoo said the pink pelican’s egg had been placed in an incubator at the end of last year and hatched “thirty one days later” on Wednesday.
“The pelican will be in the care of ornithologists until the start of the warm May nights, after which it will be released into the pond to join the adult pelicans,” the zoo added.
