MOSCOW, September 14 (RIA Novosti) - Genrikh Padva, the only lawyer of former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky who has the right to take part in the hearing of Khodorkovsky's verdict appeal Wednesday in a Moscow court, is in the hospital, Padva's assistant said.
Padva "was sent to Hospital No. 50 two days ago and cannot attend today's hearing for that reason," Yelena Levina said.
Khodorkovsky had concluded a contract on appealing his sentence with Padva only. Khodorkovvsky's foreign attorneys arrived at the Moscow City Court, but hearings have yet to begin, Levina said.
