Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf is to be included in a Russian federal list of extremist literature, the Prosecutor General's Office said on its website on Friday.

The move comes after Mein Kampf (My Struggle) was judged to be extremist by a court in Russia's Urals city of Ufa.

The book can currently be found on street bookstalls and in "underground" book shops throughout the country.

Despite the massive suffering and loss of life endured by the population of the USSR during the German invasion, neo-Nazi groups sprang up all over Russia after the collapse of the Soviet system.

April 20, the anniversary of Hitler's birth, regularly sees an increase in attacks by far-right Russian groups.
