A charity strip show to help the homeless survive the upcoming cold winter will be held on Saturday at a popular Moscow restaurant frequented by expatriates and foreign tourists, a Russian charity organization said.
The event, organized by the non-profit Spravedlivaya Pomoshch (Fair Aid) group, will feature professional strippers shedding winter clothes on stage as part of the effort to save lives of hundreds of Muscovites who have been left without shelter or family for various reasons.
The host, the American Bar&Grill restaurant at Zemlyanoy Val, will open its doors on Saturday night for anyone who would be willing to part with a piece of winter clothing, like a coat, or a hat, or just a pair of warm socks, the organizers said.
The charity event will also collect medicine and money donations for medical treatment of the homeless.
The head of Spravedlivaya Pomoshch, Elizaveta Glinka, told RIA Novosti that more than 100 homeless people died last winter while sleeping in makeshift shelters on the streets of Moscow.
