Australia has topped the list of the most happiest countries in terms of income, jobs, health and other criteria, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said on Tuesday.

Australia has topped the list of the most happiest countries in terms of income, jobs, health and other criteria, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) said on Tuesday.

The Paris-based group’s Better Life Index, showed that Australia topped Norway and the United States, according to 11 categories for each of 36 surveyed countries.

“Money, while it cannot buy happiness, is an important means to achieving higher living standards. In Australia, the average person earns $26,927 a year, more than the OECD average of $22,387 a year,” the organization said on its website.

“In general; Australians are more satisfied with their lives than the OECD average, with 74% of people saying they have more positive experiences in an average day [feelings of rest, pride in accomplishment, enjoyment, etc] than negative ones [pain, worry, sadness, boredom, etc],” the statement concluded.
