MARIA SHARAPOVA BACKS MOSCOW'S 2012 OLYMPIC BID

MOSCOW, May 21 (RIA Novosti) - Russian tennis-player Maria Sharapova named one of People Magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People" voiced her support for Moscow's 2012 Olympic bid, the Moscow 2012 Bidding Committee told RIA Novosti.
"I am happy that Moscow has a chance to host the Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2012," Sharapova said.
Sharapova whom the Ace Magazine (UK) named the sexiest tennis-player in the world is currently chasing the No. 1 spot.
In January 2005, Maria Sharapova became an international ambassador for the Moscow 2012 Bidding Committee together with other famous athletes, gymnast Svetlana Khorkina and boxer Konstantin Tszyu.
On July 6, the International Olympic Committee will hold the 177th session in Singapore to select the venue of the 2012 Olympic Games.
