MOSCOW, August 17 (RIA Novosti) - Several foreign mountain climbers have been trapped in an ice fissure on the slopes of Elbrus (North Caucasus), the Emergency Situations Ministry of Kabardino-Balkaria, a Russian republic in the North Caucasus, told RIA Novosti by phone Wednesday.
"There are no exact data about those injured. We are identifying their location, after which a rescue group will head for them," a ministry representative said.
Initial reports say the mountain climbers are from Poland.
